how to activate Xfinity cable TV ?

Let's say you want to activate cable TV with your Comcast Cable Card.

To do so, you need to have a cable receiver in your house, since the card is only able to work in combination with it.

The steps that follow are related to the installation of your cable receiver and then activating your cable TV subscription.

If you want to contact Xfinity customer service, please use the following link :  https://www.xfinity.com/support/#/

The cable receiver is not provided by Comcast in New York City (NYC). So you'll have to buy it yourself. You can get one at RadioShack for example for about $60.

Once you have the cable receiver, there are 4 steps you need to follow in order to install it and activate your cable TV subscription:

1. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet and plug the coaxial cable coming from the wall into the “Cable In” port on the back of the cable box.

2. Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into your wall outlet.

3. Connect the coaxial cable coming from your television to the “Antenna Out” or "RF Out" port on the back of your cable box.

4. Turn on your TV and Cable Box by pressing the Power button on both devices.

Once your cable receiver is installed, you need to activate your cable TV subscription. To do so, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to www.xfinity.com/activate and sign in using your Comcast username and password.

2. If you don’t have a username and password, you can create one by clicking on “Create an Account”.

3. Once you are signed in, click on Activate Service at the top of the page. This will redirect you to a new page where Comcast will ask you to fill in your billing information and select your cable TV package. Click on Continue once you have filled out all fields. You will then get confirmation that your account has been activated.

Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for the activation of your cable TV subscription to be completed. You will get an email once this process is complete, so please check your inbox.
